A Little Bit About Me
My name is Terri (Olds) Johnson and I have been teaching in the Niagara School District for 24 years. I attended Northern Michigan University for 3 1/2 years and student taught at Niagara under Cary Garvaglia in 2nd grade and Terry Youren/Chris Prost in 4th grade. I have taught first, second, third, and fifth grade. I have endured many challenges throughout the years, but all of them have shaped the teacher I am today.
My family lives in Iron Mountain. My husband is a seventh and eighth grade math teacher. He coaches 3 sports-JV football, Varsity Basketball, and Varsity Boys and Girls Golf. He has been teaching for 26 years.
We have three children. Katelynn is attending NMU and currently finishing her fourth year in the study of Education. She will student teach in the fall. Kyle is a Freshman at NMU and in the field of Athletic Training. Marcus is a Freshman in high school. We have two dogs. Buddy, our Brittany Spaniel, loves to hunt. Sophie, our Bichon Shih Tzu, is the baby of the family.
In my spare time, I like to walk, read, and most of all spend time with my family and good friends.
I am passionate about my job and want all my students to be successful learners, make good choices, acquire the proper social skills needed to be productive members of society.
